Jeep Renegade Recalled For Software Upgrade

UPDATE: Jeep has informed TMR that none of the cars affected by this recall have been delivered to customers, and all six affected are pre-delivery stock which will be upgraded. 

Jeep’s compact Renegade SUV may only have been with us for a few months, but Jeep has issued a recall of 2015 and 2016 models, the recall targeting the car’s Park Assist Mode.

Jeep says the technology “may not work as intended”, as the vehicle may not come to a complete stop once the parking manoeuvre is complete.

Should the system fail, bystanders and other road-users could be put at risk. A software upgrade is all that’s required at this stage to rectify the problem.
