Jeep Grand Cherokee Recalled For Fuel Rail Rectification

Jeep has issued a recall for its Grand Cherokee SUV in Australia this week due to a potential problem with the fuel system.

The carmaker has identified a weakness with the fuel rail crossover tube, which may have been damaged during the manufacturing process.

A damaged tube could potentially lead to a fuel leak, which could cause an under-bonnet fire. 

The problem only afflicts Grand Cherokees from the 2016 model-year, fitted with the 3.6 litre V6 petrol engine. A total of 62 Grand Cherokees are on the recall list in Australia.

The recall process will involve an inspection of the fuel rail and crossover tube, with offending parts replaced at no cost to owners.

Last month, Jeep also recalled its Wrangler 4WD due to a potential problem with a safety sensor for the Occupant Restraint Control system.

Jeep will attempt to contact affected owners shortly, but any owner wishing to learn more about the latest round of recalls should contact their local dealer.
