The high-performance Grand Cherokee SRT has always been something of a black sheep in a family of SUVs more synonymous with heading off-road, even if very few actually do.
Now, from the middle of the year, it will be available with a dark and brooding 'Night styling' package.
The SRT’s hardware remains unchanged, offering a staggering 344kW and 624Nm from its 6.4 litre Hemi V8, delivering power to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic.
In the case of the SRT Night however, Jeep’s heavy-hitter picks up black window-trims, a black seven-slot grille, black lower bumper intake, and a set of satin black badges.
Beneath the bodywork, the SRT Night rolls on a set of satin-black 20-inch alloy wheels, with what Jeeps calls a “5Ten” design, with split spokes designed to showcase the SRT’s red Brembo brake calipers.
Other Night extras include a dual-pane sunroof mounted in a black roof panel, as well as a 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.
“The Night edition gives our customers the opportunity to purchase a customised vehicle straight from the dealership, with Jeep’s most popular style enhancements already applied,” said FCA Australia’s Director of Product and Marketing, Zac Loo.
The Grand Cherokee SRT Night is set to appear in Australian Jeep dealerships in June, limited to 120 units. Pricing for the limited run model is yet to be announced, but will be released closer to the special edition’s launch.
