Jeep Cherokee Diesel: 2014 Price And Features For Australia

Jeep’s all-new Cherokee line-up has been given a key boost this week, with the Australian debut of a diesel model.

Available now in limited numbers at Jeep dealerships, the diesel Cherokee Limited is the range’s priciest offering at $49,000 - sitting above both the $44,000 petrol Limited and the $47,500 Trailhawk.

Power in the new model is provided by the same 2.0 litre MultiJet2 four-cylinder diesel available with the Alfa Romeo Giulietta, delivering 125kW at 4000rpm and 350Nm from 1750rpm.

Unlike the Alfa’s six-speed auto setup, however, the Limited’s diesel engine is mated to the same new ZF-developed nine-speed shifter found in other Cherokee models.

Like the V6 petrol Limited, the new diesel model sees motivation sent to all four wheels through Jeep's Active II AWD system that boasts low-range and five Selec-terrain driving modes.
