The creation of Jaguar Land Rover’s new Special Vehicle Operations, responsible for the recently revealed Range Rover Sport SVR, will soon mean the end of all ‘R-S’ models.
The company isn’t giving up on high-performance offerings all together, though. Rather, the R-S badge will simply be replaced with the SVR moniker.
This likely means that the next XFR-S performance sedan will be known as the XF SVR, and an XE SVR is also undoubtedly on the cards.
Likewise, any future replacement for the ageing XKR-S might instead be known as the XK SVR. (If the name continues, that is, as Jaguar is known to have registered the trademark ‘Q-Type’ with no confirmed plans.)
