Previous spy photos have revealed an Evoque-based prototype outfit, but these brand-new photos mark the first look, if heavily camouflaged, at the production model.
These new shots arrive just weeks after the carmaker confirmed that its new SUV will be dubbed 'F-Pace' - a name inspired by an early-days promise of 'grace, pace and space' made by Jaguar's first chief, William Lions.
The F-Pace will form part of Jaguar's push to match the success of partner Land Rover, which currently makes up around 80 percent of the two carmakers' sales figures.
The new Jaguar SUV will be the second JLR offering to debut on the company’s new iQ[AI] platform, arriving on the heels of the new midsized XE sedan.
Derived from the aluminium underpinnings of the new Range Rover models, Jaguar's new architecture is designed to be both light and also extremely strong.
As with the new XE, the SUV will be powered by Jaguar’s new ‘Ingenium’ engines, made up of new petrol and diesel four-cylinder engines.
Don’t be surprised however if Jaguar’s supercharged V6 also shows up in a F-Pace SVR model.
Watch for more details on the new SUV to surface over the coming months.
