JAGUAR XFR-S SPORTBRAKE
Jaguar has pulled the wraps from its new XFR-S Sportbrake wagon, first revealed in a single leaked image earlier this week.
Taking a tip from its madcap sedan sibling, this new cat enters as the flagship model in the XF Sportbrake line-up, adding new power to the business of family hauling.
Like the sedan revealed in 2012, the XFR-S Sportbrake is powered by a big supercharged 5.0 litre V8, producing a meaty 404kW and 680Nm of torque.
Jaguar promises a 0-100km/h time of just 4.8 seconds, making the new wagon model only a fraction slower than the 4.6 second XFR-S sedan.
That, combined with the XF Sportbrake’s 1675 litre cargo capacity, will likely make a compelling case for families (or at least one member of the family).
The XFR-S of course also boasts a specially tuned chassis, promising optimal weight distribution over the axles, while an active electronic differential is tied to dynamic stability control system.
On the styling front, the XFR-S Sportbrake gets the sedan’s bumper and rear diffuser, along with ‘aeroblade’ add-ons behind the front wheels to keep airflow under control.
There’s 20-inch alloys at each corner, grey or gloss-black highlights, and XFR-S specific elements inside and out.
