Jaguar Land Rover has this week issued a recall for the Jaguar XE in Australia, due to a potential problem with a fuel cooler.

The carmaker has identified a weakness with the cooler, mounted under the floor, which could develop a fuel leak.

Owners may notice a fuel odour within the cabin, or a puddle of fuel may be present on the ground after the vehicle has been sitting for a period of time.

In extreme circumstances, a fire risk may exist. Also, fuel may be allowed to contaminate the road surface while driving, creating a slipping hazard for other road users.

The recall targets a total of 76 Jaguar XEs fitted with the 2.0 litre diesel engine, built between October 2014 and June 2015.

Jaguar dealers will fit a new fuel cooler assembly with a revised design to rectify the problem.

This recall is all but identical to a recall issued by JLR earlier this month, targeting the Jaguar XF.

Jaguar will attempt to contact affected owners shortly, but any owner wishing to learn more about the latest round of recalls should contact their local dealer.
