The British carmaker is also expected to announce launch timing for its new midsized sedan, a model the company has not been too shy to discuss in recent months.
While it remains to be seen if the XQ SUV will be confirmed, spy photos snapped at the famed Nurburgring reveal that Jaguar is well into development of the new sedan.
Both cars are expected to form part of Jaguar's push to match the success of partner Land Rover, which currently makes up around 80 percent of the two carmakers' sales figures.
It's unknown what technologies the new models will share with Land Rover, although we can likely expect the new Range Rover's aluminium-intensive Premium Lightweight Architecture to underpin both cars.
Engines will likely include a 2.0 litre turbo petrol, a 2.2 turbo diesel and the 3.0 supercharged petrol V6 used by the XF.
