Jaguar will soon offers its F-Type S roadster in Australia with a V8 engine and 365kW of power, but reports out of Europe this week suggest that a much faster F-Type is on the cards; in Coupe form.

A Jaguar insider has reportedly revealed to Britain’s Auto Express that a new performance flagship F-Type with over 520kW of power is in the pipeline.

If true, this new F-Type Coupe variant should easily better the performance figures of the current Porsche 911 Turbo S, which currently produces around 412kW.

“We have done an R-S version with over 700bhp that will do over 200mph (320km/h),” the insider revealed.

The Jaguar insider also reportedly said that the car would look “fantastic” with a French Racing Blue paint scheme, which would be fitting as this colour is usually reserved for Jaguar’s more important sports models.

A Jaguar F-Type Coupe was spied testing at the Nurburgring just last week, but if the reported 520kW F-Type Coupe does make it into production, it's not expected until 2016.

Meanwhile, the F-Type roadster is due to hit the Australian market in the near future, with prices starting from $139,000 (plus on-road costs).

That figure will secure you a V6 model with 250kW while the F-Type S roadster equipped with a 365kW V8 will start from $202,300 (plus on-road costs).

TMR can only speculate as to what a 520kW F-Type Coupe would be priced at, but to be a true Porsche 911 Turbo S rival, the price would need to be around AU $250,000.
