Jaguar's new F-TYPE Coupe has appeared online this morning, surfacing in the German press ahead of its debut at the LA and Tokyo motor shows.

Due for an Australian launch in the third quarter of next year, the new hardtop F-TYPE joins the Roadster model that made its international debut in 2012.

A coupe version of the F-TYPE has been long coming howver, with its first preview coming in the form of the C-X16 coupe concept back in 2011.

Full details on the new model are still to be revealed, although it is likely the F-TYPE Coupe will feature the same six- and eight-cylinder engines offered with the Roadster model.

There are three engine options in the Roadster range: the 250kW V6-powered F-TYPE, the 280kW F-TYPE S, and the 365kW F-TYPE V8 S.

However, the Coupe is also expected to debut an entry-level 2.0 litre four-cylinder option, borrowing the 180kW engine currently featured in the Range Rover Evoque.

A panoramic glass roof was expected to come as standard equipment with the new Coupe, although these images suggest it may be offered as an option - or its deletion, in favour of a regular roof, could be a no-cost option.

Watch for more on the F-TYPE Coupe to surface in the coming days.
