"The XE features a range of engine capacities and outputs for different drivers, including the F-TYPE’s roaring V6, all built at our new facility in the UK," the company said on its website this week.
That’s the limit of the update however, so it remains unclear if the XE will get both 250kW and 280kW versions of the super six or just one. (We’d bet on both appearing - Ed.)
Announced early last month, the new XE will also feature Jaguar’s new four-cylinder ‘Ingenium’ engine range, which will be available in both petrol and diesel form.
We could also see Jaguar’s 5.0 litre V8 appear in the XE range as a headlining flagship model.
Other details confirmed for the new sedan include rear-wheel-drive as standard, packed into Jaguar’s lightweight and aluminium-intensive new iQ[AI] architecture.
Watch for the new XE to make its official debut later this year, ahead of a 2015 market launch.
