Isuzu Ute Australia has released a limited edition version of its D-Max one-tonne ute, dubbed the D-Max Farm Mate.

The special variant offers savings of around $5000 on the three-seater EX single cab/chassis and the SX space-cab four-seater cab/chassis. With much of eastern Australia's farmland - and equipment - under water, farmers will welcome the savings on Isuzu's already sharply-priced D-Max one-tonner.

Each Farm Mate model is equipped with a galvanised steel-bodied dropside tray body, including tubular headboard and stirrups, cab rear window mesh guard, chequerplate floor and taillight guards.

Also included among the exterior enhancements is a steel bull bar powder-coated in satin black, a tow bar kit with a seven-pin flat plug, square-section removable tongue, tow ball and D-shackles.

Inside, Farm Mate models benefit from the addition of Bluetooth hands-free connectivity.

“Many farmers in various regions across the country have had hard times of late with the extremes of weather. If they are looking to update their farm ute, then these Farm Mate special value D-MAX models will help make that purchase considerably more affordable,” IUA Managing Director Hitoshi Kono said.

“Farm Mates come equipped with the practical accessories that primary producers typically need in such a general purpose farm ute, and they are offered at driveaway prices which will save them thousands,” Mr Kono added.

Limited initially to a total 1000 units and available only to ABN holders, the D-Max Farm Mate single-cab is priced at $33,990 drive-away, and the space-cab at $39,490 driveaway. Isuzu advises that final production numbers will depend on demand.
