Luxury brand Infiniti will make its Australian re-appearance at this weekend's F1 Grand Prix in Melbourne, the carmaker has revealed.

Appearing at the big race ahead of an August sales debut, Infiniti will show off the full local line-up: the FX crossover SUV, the large M sedan and, in convertible form, the midsized G37 sports car. (The G37 Coupe will also figure in the Australian range.)

The public unveiling of the three Infiniti cars will form part of the brand's ongoing sponsorship of the Red Bull F1 team.

The luxo carmaker will also show off an eight-foot-tall accelerator pedal, dubbed Exhilirator, hooked up to the Infiniti FX50S' 290kW 5.0 litre V8 engine and channelling its roar through a stack of concert speakers with a tap of the pedal.

"Infiniti’s ethos is inspired performance, which is a perfect fit with the performance-based ideologies of Red Bull Racing and Formula 1," Kevin Snell, General Manager of Infiniti Cars Australia, said.

"This makes the 2012 Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix the ideal launching pad from which to start our Australian story."
