Infiniti Q80 Concept Revealed

Infiniti has offered a first look at its new Q80 Inspiration concept, revealing the show car’s curvaceous derrière today.

Although the Q80 concept’s front-end has yet to be shown, it is clear from this ‘teaser’ image that we can expect Infiniti’s coming flagship to showcase a four-door coupe design.

In that segment, the Q80 will take on the likes of Audi’s A7 Sportback, the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe, and the latest generation of the model that ‘started’ the four-door coupe trend: the Mercedes-Benz CLS.

The Q80, at least in concept form, appears to wear to the most coupe-like profile of them all, with its long roof canopy roof flowing down into a short and tall rear deck design.

Perhaps realising it was onto a good thing at the time, Infiniti has also imbued the Q80 with more than a few cues from the popular 2009 Essence coupe concept.

"After showing Q30 Concept and Q50 Eau Rouge, Infiniti is eager to show the upper range of our portfolio expansion," Infiniti’s exterior design boss, Alfonso Albaisa, says.

"In Q80 Inspiration, we wanted to capture that unforgettable feeling when you experience something important, something beautiful, something magnetic for the first time."
