INFINITI ESQ

Images of a new Infiniti-badged Nissan Juke have surfaced online today, offering a first look at the compact SUV’s premium upgrade.

Developed exclusively for China, the Infiniti ‘ESQ’ will add a premium look and new features to the quirky crossover.

Full details are to come, but these teaser images reveal a new mesh grille with ‘ESQ’ badging and large multi-spoke alloy wheels.

The front bumper has also been modified, adding a sharper bevel to the areas surrounding the new grille.

Infiniti badging can also be seen at the rear above a chrome garnish, and in the cabin in place of the Nissan badge on the regular Juke steering wheel.

It’s unclear what other upgrades the Juke will get for China, although premium materials in the cabin and new user technologies are likely.

A more powerful engine could also feature, although reports out of China suggest a 145kW 1.6 litre turbo unit will be the only powertrain on offer.

Elsewhere in the Infiniti world, SUV options include the large QX70, while overseas markets also get the seven-seat QX60 and the smaller QX50 model.

News of an Infiniti-badged Juke comes just months after the unveiling of Nissan’s updated 2014 model, which should hit Australia in the new year.
