John Lennon's blue 1965 Ferrari 330GT is once again up for auction after failing to sell at a previous attempt in February.
Twenty-five year old Lennon didn't mess around when buying his first car. The 330GT is finished in Azzuro blue paint and with a blue interior, for which the singer songwriter paid £6500 ($10,000) in 1965. In today's money, that's closer to £110,000 ($170,000).
Lennon kept the car for three years and covered only 32,000km until selling it in October 1967.
According to Bonhams' website, the car was rediscovered by the current owner in the late 1980s at Modena Ferrari, painted red and without its orginal number plate.
After being restored to its original spec and reunited with its original numberplate - DUL 4C - Bonhams say it'll go for between £180,000 and £220,000 ($276,000 - $340,000) and comes with full history and "correspondence with Lennon."
The car was bought by Lennon not long after the news of his passing his driving test was splashed across the UK media.
His home in Surrey was beseiged by dealers parking Maseratis, Aston Martins and Jaguar E-Types for him to choose between. He took the 330GT, sealing the deal without even visiting a dealership.
The 330GT 2+2 was the successor to the 250 and ran until 1968. The engine was a more civilised evolution of the 400 Superamerica's 4.0 litre V12, with 220kW at 6600rpm.
Its coupe twin, the 330 America, was a re-engined, re-bodied 250 whereas the 330 had a longer wheelbase and unique bodywork.
Early 330s had a four-speed manual with overdrive but the Series 2 had a five-speed, also gaining air-conditioning and power steering. Lennon's appears to be a Series I.
In all, 627 Series 1 and 460 Series II 330 GT 2+2s were built.
It's the second Beatles car to go to auction in the last year - McCartney's DB5 sold for nearly $500,000.
The Bonham's auction will be on July 12 and will be held in conjunction with the Goodwood Festival of Speed, so you have almost two months to scrape together the dough.
