Hyundai has recalled its ix35 SUV in Australia, due to a potential problem with an oil cooler hose.

Models with automatic transmissions are affected, with a specific list of Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) targeted.

The carmaker has identified a weakness with a transmission oil cooler hose, which was not manufactured to specification.

The hose may be susceptible to fluid leaks, which could cause an eventual failure of the automatic transmission.

Should this occur while driving, the driver’s control over the vehicle may be reduced, resulting in a hazard for the vehicle occupant and other road users.

A total of 37,334 i30s were also recalled by Hyundai last month, due to a potential problem with the electronic stability control.

Hyundai will attempt to contact affected owners shortly, but any owner wishing to learn more about the latest round of recalls should contact their local dealer.
