Hyundai has taken the next step in its self-driving technology program, detailing an autonomous version of its new Ioniq hybrid.

The project exists only in a handful of concepts for now, known simply as the Autonomous Ioniq, and visitors to the LA Auto Show can learn all about it.

Features include a forward-facing radar, a GPS antenna, and a three-way camera system to detect pedestrian proximity, lane markings and traffic signals.

The system also uses high-definition mapping data for optimum location accuracy, road grading and curvature, and lane width.
