Two models, manual and automatic transmissions and a pair of engines producing up to 200kW - that's the first details of Hyundai's long-awaited N Performance model.
As expected, it will be based around the new generation i30 hatch and will be packing a turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine and a limited slip differential.
The i30 N is expected to arrive in Australia by the end of 2017 to do battle with the likes of the Volkswagen Golf GTI, Ford Focus ST and Peugeot 308 GTi. As previously reported, there will be two versions of the i30 N available, one focused on road driving and another more track-orientated variant.
The standard i30 N will be powered by a 183kW version of the company's 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine and mated to a six-speed manual transmission. It will also be equipped with an electronically activated mechanical limited slip differential to help transmit its power to the tarmac. It will ride on N-specific 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero tyres.
