Strong sales of Hyundai’s range has seen the Korean company secure second place on the sales charts, according to official VFACTS figures.
Hyundai recorded 9003 sales for October, representing an increase of 7.2 percent compared to last October, and giving the company a 9.5 percent market share.
Number-one selling Toyota recorded 16,964 sales for the month, a figure that sees it slip 2.4 percent compared to 2014.
Year to date, Hyundai holds third place overall with 86,429 sales, placing it ahead of Holden. On passenger car sales alone (excluding commercial vehicles) Hyundai managed to outsell the passenger car lineups of Holden, Volkswagen, and Mazda.
The i30 by itself finished in third place behind Toyota’s Hilux (a combination of the newly launched model, and run-out stock of the outgoing version), and the Toyota Corolla (hatch and sedan), but ahead of Ford Ranger and Mazda3.
