An unveiling for Hyundai's updated-for-2012 Genesis Coupe can't be far away, with a clear new spy photo surfacing in the Korean press this week.
For 2012, the Genesis Coupe gains Hyundai's new front-end styling, adopting the large hexagonal grille design and jewel headlights now featured across the Korean carmaker's line-up.
The Genesis Coupe's profile carries over unchanged, with the quirky rear-quarter window and overlapping character lines remaining a prominent design feature.
The story is much the same at the rear, with lightly updated LED taillights and a restyled rear bumper.
The Korean- and US-market 2012 update is expected to see the Genesis Coupe gain more power, with the output of its 3.8 litre V6 petrol engine growing from 234kW to 248kW.
The four-cylinder turbo's output is also expected to grow, although actual numbers remain unknown. For now, the turbo Coupe offers a reasonable 157kW
Australia
An Australia debut for the Genesis Coupe has so far been stonewalled by the absence of a right-hand-drive version.
Thanks to pressure from the UK market however, Hyundai recently gave the green light to the development of a right-hook version.
It is expected that right-hand-drive production will begin with the next-generation Genesis Coupe - not the update shown here - so a local debut for the rear-driven coupe is sometime off.
