Hyundai has today put to rest speculation regarding the future of its light car line-up in Australia, confirming that the Accent is to replace the i20.

Previously both the European-sourced i10 and new generation i20 had been mooted as possible replacements for the current i20, which is nearing the end of its production run in India.

Today John Ellsworth, Chief Operating Officer of Hyundai Australia, revealed that in lieu of those new models the current Accent would be repositioned.
