Honda’s New N City Car Surfaces Online

The list of go-nowhere Honda concepts is as long as your arm, but after two swings at the idea, one of its littler projects is now set for a production debut.

Inspired by the earlier EV-N concept and N Concept_4 - both drawing on the look of the original N range of the 60s - Honda's new city car has been revealed in new leaked brochure images this week.

Obtained by enthusiast site Carscoop, the images offer the first look at the light car that Honda will put against the likes of the Fiat 500 and Suzuki's diminutive Alto.

Details about the new car are hazy (do you read Japanese? Jump into the comments below), although it is known that the new N car will share many of its parts with the considerably less retro-focused N Box+ car offered in Japan.

Joining Japan's kei-car segment, the new Honda will likely be powered by the carmaker's turbocharged and naturally-aspired 660cc three-cylinder engines, matched to a CVT automatic transmission.

Whether we'll see this one in Australia remains to be seen, but with Suzuki's Alto reeling in just 2417 sales so far this year, the city-car market is not likely to be Honda's top priority.
