Honda's latest offering is rear-wheel-drive, promises a Veyron-shaming power-to-weight ratio of 2.82lb p/hp, and lists a 0-100km/h time just over four seconds.

It's not a car, though, and it's not even one of Honda's mental motorbikes - although the latter did play a part in developing this monster.

No, the newest performance Honda is the Mean Mower ride-on, and no, you can't buy it. This is a one-off build, developed by Honda's UK arm and racing partner Team Dynamics.

Powering the Mean Mower is a 1.0 litre V-twin engine ripped out of a Honda VTR 1000F Firestorm motorcycle, producing 81kW and 96Nm of torque.

Stuffed into a 140kg mower with a custom tube-frame chassis, and that's one hell of a powerplant.

There's also a wheels and suspension package pinched from an ATV - no surprise there - while the steering rack, interestingly, is taken from a Morris Minor.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed paddle-shifted transmission, and Team Dynamics swears the thing has topped 160km/h on the track.

And, because that sort of performance would drain the regular cell quickly, the rear grass bag has been replaced with a fuel tank. Next to that is a high-capacity oil cooler and a secondary radiator.

Honda, are you sure we can't convince you to sell us one? TMR Managing Editor Tim O'Brien has a couple of paddocks that this thing would make light work of...
