Honda continues to be hit hardest by the Takata airbag saga, with the Japanese carmaker announcing that its recall program has been further expanded.

Another 21 million cars worldwide are set to join the list, which to date has included such models as the Jazz, Civic, CR-V and Legend.

Honda is yet to detail which models will be included from which markets in the expanded recall, or their production dates, but it seems inevitable that more of Honda’s customers in Australia will be affected.

The US will almost certainly be one of the markets included in the expanded recall program, as the country’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recently ordered a more wide-reaching campaign.
