Honda is said to be working on a new version of its S2000 model, to tackle the new Mazda MX-5 and Fiat 124 twins in the roadster market.
The previous S2000 was canned in 2009 after a decade on the market and following a rethink from Honda about its overall line-up, but it now appears the Japanese carmaker is no longer content to watch its rivals take the spoils.

The news supports an earlier report from October which also claimed the S2000 was to return (with hybrid power), and patent images revealed mid-year (although mid-engined in appearance) would appear to strengthen the argument that a new model is near.
