Honda’s list of recalls for models affected by the Takata airbag fiasco continues to grow, and the Japanese carmaker has added a previously-unlisted model this week.
The Honda Legend is now also in the carmaker’s sights to rectify the potentially faulty airbags, with a year-model range of 2007-2012.
Civic examples from year-model 2006 through to 2011 are among the new inclusions, as are Jazz models from 2012.
As with the existing Takata recalls, the main concern centres around the airbag inflator unit, which can rupture as the airbag deploys.
If this was to occur, metal fragments may be sprayed throughout the cabin with potential to cause injury or even death to the vehicle’s occupants.
The latest Takata recall announcement comes hot on the heels of another from Honda last week, with further examples of the City, CR-V, Jazz and Insight now on the list.
Honda will attempt to contact affected owners shortly, but any owner wishing to learn more about the latest round of recalls should contact their local dealer.
