Honda has taken the formula for its Insight hybrid and transformed it into a sleek four-door coupe. This is the Advanced Cruiser-X concept, but you can call it AC-X.

Making an online stop-off on its way to next month's Tokyo Motor Show, the AC-X concept arrives as one of the sportier looking passenger hybrids, and one of the most frugal.

Powered by a 1.6 litre petrol engine and an electric motor, Honda says the AC-X offers a total driving range of 997 kilometres and a combined-cycle fuel consumption figure of 2.3 l/100km.

Honda hasn't offered any word on production for this one - but it would make quite the replacement for the Insight.

Honda Small Sports EV Concept

But wait, it gets even more sporting. This stylised set of illustrations is the tentatively-named Small Sports EV Concept.

There are no production plans for this one either, but the carmaker says it offers a glimpse of what we might see in the future.

Honda promises "maximum fun while achieving excellent environmental performance". How? Your guess is as good as ours, as there are no technical details anywhere to be found for this one. Watch for more details to come out of Tokyo next month.

Honda Micro Commuter Concept

Developed as a collaborative effort between Honda's automobile and motorcycle divisions, the Micro Commuter Concept (MCC) is an electrified city car concept that you direct with a pair of joysticks instead of a steering wheel and pedals.

That's a little too conventional, after all.
