Holden has moved to take advantage of strong year-to-date sales, lifting prices on every model it sells in Australia - except the Volt.

Prices have risen by either $400 or $500, while the electric range-extended Volt retains its $59,990 plus on-roads price.

The cheapest Holden in the Barina Spark manual now starts at $12,890, while the larger Barina is now priced from $15,390; both up $400.

Barina Sedan will cost at least $500 more starting at $15,890, which also represents a $400 price rise.

Holden’s Cruze small car sneaks in under $20,000 with a new starting price of $19,890 (up $400), while the midsized Malibu starts at $28,890 for the petrol-powered CD model (up $400).
