The Australasian Road Rescue Organisation (ARRO) has been given a boost this week, with the donation of 70 former test cars from Holden.
Previously used as engineering evaluation cars, the models donated include the Commodore, Caprice, Cruze and Captiva.
The cars will be used in the 2012 ARRO Australian Rescue Challenge this week in Hobart.
“Holden’s support of this program gives our road rescue teams the valuable opportunity to get real hands on experience using new vehicles with the latest automotive technology," ARRO's Paul Jerome said.
“The end result means the teams are better equipped with outstanding skills and techniques, which can make the difference at a real life accident scene."
Teams at the event will take part in simulated emergency situations designed to improve their emergency response skills including rescue and medical treatment for injured motor vehicle occupants.
Holden has donated nearly 1000 vehicles to ARRO over the past 12 years.
