Holden has introduced a new ‘X’ edition to its 2015 Barina hatch range, adding a handful of new features for a limited time.
Based on the current CD model, the new Barina X slides in below the CDX with around $2500 in extra features at a $1250 premium.
Additional features include Holden’s MyLink infotainment system and an electric sunroof, along with 16-inch gunmetal alloy wheels and front fog lights.
The MyLink system adds enhanced Bluetooth connectivity with integrated apps that include the Pandora, Stitcher and TuneIn music services. Hands-free calling and navigation, via the BringGo app, is also featured.
Special ‘X’ decals also replace the CD model badge.
The $1250 X pack, limited to 700 units, is based on the $15,390 CD five-speed manual and $17,590 CD six-speed auto hatch models.
As with the CD models, power in the X is provided by an 85kW/155Nm 1.6 litre four-cylinder petrol engine, with fuel use listed at 6.7 (auto) and 6.8 l/100km (manual).
Year-to-date sales for the Barina range see the light hatch on 1758 sales, down 8.2 percent on the 1915 sales achieved for the same period in 2014.
