Australia looks set to miss out on a high-riding, urban-focused version of the Holden Spark unveiled in Los Angeles overnight.
Following in the footsteps of successful urban crossovers like Subaru's XV, the Spark Activ features a 10mm-higher ride height as well as black body mouldings, new roof rails and new spot lights.
While the model would no doubt be welcomed by a niche group of Holden customers, company spokesman Mark Flintoft says the model is not likely to come to Australia.
"The Chevrolet Spark Activ looks like a great car however we have nothing to announce at this time. Holden will concentrate its small SUV offering on the recently announced redesigned Trax," he says.
"Holden is committed to leveraging GM's global portfolio to provide the best vehicles for Australia."
An updated version of Holden's Trax is due to arrive locally in 2017.
