The headline act appears to be the GRMN Sports FR Concept Platinum, a development of the GRMN Sports FR Concept concept shown at the 2012 Nürburgring 24 Hour race and the Goodwood Festival of Speed earlier this year.
This GRMN Sports FR Concept Platinum, like its predecessor, is the work of Toyota’s Gazoo Racing in-house racing team.
New teaser images suggest the Platinum concept will feature the wildest evolution of the 86 design to date, with unique head- and tail-lights added to an evolution of the earlier concept’s track-focused widebody kit.
The Platinum uses the GRMN Sports FR Concept’s turbocharged and supercharged 2.0 litre boxer engine, but now produces 243kW/431Nm - up 8kW/10Nm from the earlier concept’s quoted figures.
These body and engine upgrades are joined by a new limited-slip differential, brake and bucket seat upgrades.
Teaser images have been revealed for a further four 86-based Auto Salon concepts, carrying the names; 86 TRD Griffon Concept, TOM'S N086V Concept, 86 × style Cb, and 86 MODELLISTA Concept.
Of these, the 86 × style Cb looks to be the most unique, with Porsche-esque detailing hinted in its sole teaser shot.
Details of these concepts are scant at this stage, but all will be revealed when the Tokyo Auto Salon opens on January 11.
