A new partnership between several carmakers and internet giant Google has been announced at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week.

General Motors, Hyundai (and Kia by default), Honda and ‘visual computing’ company Nvidia, have all teamed up to accelerate the integration of the Android platform into car infotainment systems.

Audi is also on board with the alliance, confirming a report from last week claiming the German carmaker had teamed up with Google.
