Genesis Enlists Ex-Bugatti Designer As Chief Designer

Though it may only be a relative newcomer in the prestige field Genesis, Hyundai’s luxury arm, is already hard at work establishing itself with the right kind of premium credentials.

One of the steps Genesis has taken to boost its profile includes creating a new Chief Designer position at the company’s Global Advanced Design Studio in Europe and staffing it with former Bugatti designer Alexander Selipanov.

Selipanov’s previous work experience includes time at the Volkswagen Design Centre in Germany before joining the exterior design team at Lamborghini to work on the Huracan, in 2014 he was appointed head of exterior design at Bugatti, and is responsible for the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo concept and the Chiron hypercar.
