Geely GC9 Revealed: Former Volvo Design Boss Pens New Sedan

Chinese carmaker Geely has revealed its most compelling new model yet, in the form of the new GC9 sedan.

Representing a significant leap beyond the dowdy looks of the brand’s most recent offerings, this new sedan is the work of former Volvo design boss Peter Horbury.

Horbury is known most recently for his work on the 2011 ‘Universe’ concept and, while it is clear that design no longer represents the future of Volvo, its key styling showpiece can be seen in this new Geely.

Dominating the face of the new GC9 sedan is a version of the Universe’s broad grille, characterised by a tunnel-like series of smaller loops framing the Geely badge.
