The Mobil 1 Car Pack for Forza Motorsport 6 is now available, and Holden fans in Australia may be surprised to learn of a classic, local inclusion.

The VL Commodore ‘Walkinshaw’ Group A sedan is one of seven cars included in the pack, with each car said to offer a “completely different driving experience”.

The development team wasn’t kidding with that explanation, as the 1988 Walkinshaw is joined by everything from the 1991 Mazda Motorsport RX-7 to the Koenigsegg One:1 hypercar.

The rest of the pack is made up of the 2016 Mercedes-AMG C 63 S Coupe, 1963 Ferrari 250LM, 1990 Chevrolet Douglas Shierson Racing Lola T90/00 and the 1958 Plymouth Fury.

Forza describes the VL Walkinshaw as “a head turner that has held its value over the years”.

To refresh your memory, the Walkinshaw (or Group A SV) was powered by a 4.9 litre V8 petrol engine with fuel injection that produced 180kW.

The car came about after the demise of the relationship between Holden and Peter Brock following the infamous Energy Polarizer, with Holden turning to Tom Walkinshaw to run its race team and Special Vehicles operation.

The rest, as they say, is history.

The Mobil 1 Car Pack is included at no additional cost to owners of the Forza Motorsport 6 Car Pass, which brings six car packs featuring seven cars to players each month. All others can purchase the pack separately or buy cars from the pack individually.
