Ford’s updated Transit Custom van has been uncovered in Europe bringing new styling, interior changes and a new variant aimed at maximising fuel economy.

Flexibility is the name of the game, as is characteristic for Euro vans, and the Transit Custom again delivers in this area.
Two roof heights, two wheelbases, three engine outputs, payloads up to 1450kg, three body-styles and gross vehicle masses (GVM) ranging from 2.6 to 3.4 tonnes are all available.

The sole powerplant is Ford’s 2.0 litre EcoBlue turbocharged diesel engine, but buyers can choose between 77, 96 or 125kW outputs. Ford says efficiency has improved by 13 percent, and torque has increased by up to 20 percent.

A new ECOnetic variant drives fuel usage as low as 5.7 l/100km in the least powerful engine, matched with a stop-start system, a speed limiter (100km/h maximum) and low rolling-resistant tyres.
