Ford’s SYNC 3 infotainment system has already made its way into some of the Mondeo and Ranger line-up, and now the carmaker says customers can expect a broader rollout before the end of the year.

Focus, including Focus ST and RS, along with Mustang and Everest models are now on the list to receive the tech upgrade, which brings Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Other improvements include refreshed menu layouts, better mapping facilities, a more user-friendly platform with improved touch along with tablet-like swiping and pinching.

Ford says integration for the AppLink program is “seamless”, while Emergency Assist and software updates via WiFi are also included. A ‘one box search’ is available, designed to mimic an internet search engine.
