Ford Mustang Joins Hertz Rental Fleet In Sydney And Melbourne

Ford fans in Australia despairing at the extra-long waiting list for the Mustang can now sample the iconic pony car much sooner.

Rental company Hertz has announced it will add an undisclosed number of Mustangs to its “Adrenaline Collection” fleet - which also includes the Renault Megane RS, Toyota 86 and Nissan Pulsar SSS.

Ford reassured those still on the waiting list that Hertz’s allocation - described as a “small fleet order” - was only confirmed when the carmaker secured a further 2000 Mustangs for 2016.

Hertz outlets in Sydney and Melbourne will be the first to add Mustangs to their fleets.

“Many Australians come home with stories of driving Mustangs on the Californian coast and now can build their memories driving our iconic coasts for the first time in a Mustang sold by Ford directly from the factory,” Ford Australia CEO, Graeme Whickman, said.

“Hertz was the perfect partner for Ford given their famed history with Mustang in North America. We deferred this partnership until recently confirming 2,000 more Mustangs for Australia, which helped shorten the wait for many retail customers.  A small number of Mustangs in the country’s biggest cities will help us reach a great number of people with Mustang’s magic – especially in a period of increased domestic travel.”
