In June 2016 Ford will return to the Le Mans 24-hour with its all-new GT supercar, aiming to recapture some of the glory it experienced in the late 1960s when the original GT40 notched up four consecutive Le Mans wins.
And in a neat coincidence (or not), next year marks the 50th anniversary of Ford’s 1966 victory at the famous French circuit. In fact, a 1-2-3 GT finish saw Ford drivers crowd the podium that year.
Its anyone's guess whether Ford's newest mid-engined supercar will replicate the success of its oldest one, but the race version of the 2016 Ford GT appears to have the right stuff.
