Fisker Karma To Be Relaunched, Original Styling To Remain: Report

The Fisker Karma is reportedly close to a relaunch, thanks to the new owner’s decision to stick with the range-extended EV luxury car’s existing design.

Speaking with industry paper Automotive News, anonymous sources close to the new owner, Chinese auto parts producer Wanxiang Group, reportedly said the relaunch was being ‘accelerated’.

This would limit the time available for the Karma to renegotiate crash testing and government ‘red tape’, so Wanxiang has decided to pick up where Fisker left off with the existing Karma design.

"It will have to be nearly identical to the 2012 model, or it would need to go through testing and certification again," a source said. 

"I don’t think they want to put a lot of engineering into it either, [they’ll] probably use up some of the old parts that are in inventory."
