Ford Australia is set to donate the first production example of the swansong Falcon, the XR8 Sprint, to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund with car number one of the 750-unit XR8 Sprint build going up for auction.

The proceeds of the auction, which runs from May 7th until May 31st, will be used to directly fund JDRF’s research project exploring how to automate insulin pumps to help manage type 1 diabetes, providing a "technological cure" for the disease.

The car to be auctioned features a Winter White exterior and six-speed manual transmission to go with the supercharged V8’s 345kW and 575Nm outputs - with 400kW and 650Nm available courtesy of an overboost function. You can read more about the Falcon Sprint range with our launch review.
