Film: ‘Need For Speed’ Trailer Surfaces

The first explosive preview for the upcoming film adaptation of popular video game Need For Speed has hit the 'net today, offering an early look ahead of its 2014 debut. 

The trailer is packed with exotic supercars, police chases and the requisite explode-on-impact crashes, set to the vengeful words of Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul as protagonist Tobey Marshall.

According to studio Dreamworks, the big-screen adaptation of Need For Speed will tell the story of a man framed for a crime he didn't commit, desperate for revenge. (Now there's a creative plot... - Ed.) 

The film's mechanical stars include Bugatti's Veyron, a McLaren P1, and a massively souped-up Mustang, developed together with Ford. 

In the film, the 'Stang will get massively pumped guards, a 'twin nostril' bonnet and massive 22-inch alloys, all wrapped around a supercharged V8 - although specifics on that powerplant haven't been revealed.

Along with Paul, the film's flesh-and-blood stars will include British stars Dominic Cooper and Imogen Poot, and Hollywood veteran Michael Keaton.

Act of Valor director Scott Waugh is credited as director, working with a script written by George and John Gatins - the latter brother being responsible for the recent Hugh Jackman children's flick, Real Steel.
