Ron Howard has released a new preview for the upcoming film Rush, highlighting the on- and off-track tensions between its famous protagonists.
The new movie chronicles the rivalry between Formula 1 drivers Niki Lauda and James Hunt, focusing on the events that surrounded Lauda's fiery crash and eventual return to the track.
The film stars Daniel Bruhl (Inglourious Basterds) as the hard-nosed Lauda, joined by Australian actor Chris Hemsworth (Thor) as playboy McLaren driver Hunt.
The story focuses on the titanic battle between Hunt and Lauda in the 1976 Formula One World Championship. Director Ron Howard's famous attention to detail is evident in the period-perfect accuracy seen in this trailer.
Shot on location in Germany, Austria and the UK, the film also stars a number of genuine race cars from the period.
Based on true events that include Lauda's horrific brush with death and his return to challenge for the title again, Rush was penned by Frost/Nixon scribe Peter Morgan.
Rush will hit our screens in September.
