Fiat’s upcoming 124 Spider has been spotted without camouflage, ahead of its expected debut before the end of the year.
The pics show the 124 from the side and from the rear, with one pic also showing fans what they can expect from the interior.
Plenty of Mazda elements have crossed over in the 124’s insides, as the new model is based on Mazda’s all-new MX-5 roadster.
The outside is a different story, however, with much of the styling efforts going into an elongated nose to give the 124 a major point of difference over the MX-5.
Fiat will no doubt explain the Spider’s styling lines in due course, but the longer 'schnoz' may be a nod to the original Fiat 124 of yesteryear.
A further point of difference will be the 124’s powerplant, with Mazda’s 1.5 and 2.0 litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engines making way for a turbocharged four-pot; potentially a 1.4 litre unit or the 1.75 litre engine from the Alfa Romeo 4C.
All will be revealed soon - stay tuned to TMR for more.
