Ferrari To Host Auction To Benefit Earthquake Victims

Ferrari has donated approximately AU$2 million worth of products and memorabilia to benefit victims of the recent earthquakes in Northern Italy.

The Italian supercar brand's headquarters and manufacturing operations are located in Maranello -  very near the areas affected by the quakes which have so far killed 17.

Taking top value honours among the items is a track-only 599XX Evo model, with factory support at worldwide driving events. The Corse Clienti 599XX package's value is estimated at €1.3 million (AU$1.66 million).

There are also several lesser value items destined for the auction block, including an F1 engine, F1 drivers helmets, apparel and accessories.

Many items were also donated by Ferrari enthusiasts, symbolising the strength of the worldwide Ferrari community.

Ferrari held a similar auction in 2011 to benefit victims of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami, raising the equivalent of AU$750,000.

The auction can be accessed via www.ferraristore.com and will commence on June 4.
