Ferrari has unveiled its limited-edition Sergio model in production guise, at a hand-over event to the model’s first customer in Abu Dhabi.

The Sergio is named after design legend Sergio Pininfarina - not to be confused with new company boss Sergio Marchionne - and will be limited to a production run of just six units.

The limit of six is a nod to Ferrari’s 60-year relationship with Pininfarina, and each example has been tweaked by its owner with personalising effects.

This means each one is more or less unique, but all will be powered by the 419kW/540Nm 4.5 litre naturally-aspirated V8 from the Ferrari 458 Spider with which the Sergio shares much of its hardware.

The Sergio matches the 458’s 0-100km/h time of around 3.4 seconds, and uses the same seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.
