With the F1 Commission meeting in Geneva today to deliberate on the future of the sport, Ferrari has decided to release its own vision of what it thinks its Formula One car could look like in the coming years.

Penned by Scuderia Ferrari's designers and aerodynamicists, these renderings depict a car that's still recognisably a top-tier open-wheeler, but with more complex aero, semi-enclosed wheels and a streamlined helmet for the driver that integrates into the bodywork.

It's certainly wild. The double-decker front wing has vertical elements to direct air around the front wheels, while the wheels themselves are almost nested into the car's body.
